Act 4 Convention Center

For some strange reason, there are supply crates on the rooftop. You can use them to re-equip your character if you missed doing so on the chopper ride in. Outfit your character the same way if you like. However, the first two areas of the convention hall are more suited to medium range fighting -- if you have a light machinegun you've been dying to use, take it out and go loud and messy. You can do so for this act, or at least until you are at the Monorail Station. If you do take a light...

Act 7 Compound

With the team back in play, you can relax somewhat now. There is no longer any pretense of stealth and you can go all assault now. You can take out a light machinegun (the MG36 and recoil control stock is highly recommended) and another weapon of your choice. Sniping is a premium here. Keep your explosives around the C4 and grenades are lifesavers for you, life-takers on the enemy. Begin by sending the squad to secure the right corner of the first hut. Have Bishop hit the left corner and fire...

Semiauto Vs Full Auto

Many guns have the option to change their fire rates. Fire rates affect the accuracy of the weapon. By default, the accuracy rating is averaged between all fire modes (generally semiauto and full auto) however, some weapons have an additional burst fire. As seen in this illustration, the groups created by a 552 Commando at a distance of about 16 meters vary vastly between each fire mode. Firing ten shots from each mode, the groups reflect how accurate you can get depending on the fire mode....

Choice of Armor

When creating your character (and outfitting him or her later), you can select the armor level you want your character to wear (these settings carry over from Bishop to Knight, if you play as a guest player). For Story and Terrorist Hunt on Realistic difficulty, IGN recommends the heavy armor. While you move slower, the hits you can withstand are slightly more than if you were wearing light or medium armor (or no armor at all). It should be important to note that until you reach the rank of...

Big Detail About A Little Control

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 has the sprint function, which wrecks your map cheat, but only partially, since you can also cheat darkness by upping your video gamma setting to the maximum amount (this will still not aide in seeing through smoke though). It's highly recommended that you adjust your button settings to the one that allows you to access the battlescape (tactical map) without calling up the thermal scan. The thermal scan should be in conjunction with the tac-map, rather than be the only...

Gadgets

Rainbow Six uses a variety of gadgets in Story mode and Terrorist Hunt to catch bad guys. Adversarial mutliplayer adds Tear gas, GPS locator, EC Jammer, Gas Mask, and Motion Sensor. All of these tools are discussed briefly below. These devices create a concussive explosion. Although called fragmentation grenades, the explosion is more that of a concussive grenade. Use these for flushing out or disabling enemies if you need an explosive. With some practice, you can throw these quite far. These...

Custom Real Life Weapons

There are six categories of weapons assault rifles, light machineguns, submachineguns, handguns, sniper rifles, and shotguns. Each category has their own general flaws and options to customize a weapon for better fighting efficiency.
